On a final note Howard,

Both examples you stated...BYU's national championship in 1984 and the 1996 team that beat Kansas State in the Cotton Bowl are well chronicled in the book manuscript. I'm at a complete loss at how you could come up with the fact that I am just as guilty as you say.

Howard,

You are way off base here bro! I have been a repeated adversary for the Mountain West Conference on many occasions. Perhaps you should read my article on the final analysis where I not only support BYU but the entire Mountain West Conference. Perhaps you should read my article: "Food for Thought - The Curse of the Non-BCS." One of my good friends in life is actually Bronco Mendenhall, who I went to school with at Oregon State University. I fail to understand how you could read my article on the history of the BCS and actually make the connection that I am biased towards the BCS. The fact that the BCS is full of blatant biases is the whole purpose of my book. You are out in left field if you think I am biased and have left out these conferences.

You left out the impact of the BYU "84" Championship and their #5 "96" Cotton bowl teams.... the former being the modern impitus for the creation of the BCS in the first place and the later causing the change to the ranking criteria which allowed Utah, Boise State and Hawaii to crack the BCS.......... and the obvious snubbing again in your aticle of not only BYU but the WAC and the new MWC impact in being the conferences not aligned to continuously "Bust the BCS" again overstates the fact that blatent biases do and continue to occur. You yourself are just as guilty.

[...] Nearly every major football power in college football has had their run in with mediocrity in the last decade (the list includes Penn State, USC, Georgia, LSU, Texas, Oklahoma, Washington, Ohio State, Michigan Texas A&M and Arkansas, but yet the game still does not move forward. Do you ever wonder why? I believe I have a valid theory! [...]

I whole-heartedly respect his courage in speaking up and defending his institution. If we had more people with his heart and courage today, I don't think we would be in our current BCS predicament. I really appreciate your comments, especially given the fact your family endured the brunt of the situation. I am pained just reading and researching the material. I can only imagine what it was like to go through it. Regards and appreciation!

I am Franny Murray's daughter and I remember the whole painful period in my father's career.
Franny Murray grasped the whole picture and bravely spoke up for what he believed was in the best interest of College football and the colleges.
